All of our undergraduate courses offer an optional sandwich year route that gives you the opportunity to apply for an industry placement between your second and final year. Or to combine study abroad with one of our partner institutions and a placement. If you choose this route, you will commit to working full-time in the fashion industry during your third year, before returning to complete your degree in your fourth year. As one of our students all of your teaching and assessments are included in your tuition fees, including, lectures/guest lectures and tutorials, seminars, laboratory sessions and specialist teaching facilities. You will also have access to a wide range of student support and IT services.

Year 1 Level

Students can choose to work Independently or form collaborative partnerships to realise their proposition in developing the project through to completion. This unit introduces students to the fashion marketing theories and processes. Students will explore the marketing mix, market research and marketing strategies for different size organisations, before researching the influence marketing has on profit, reputation and the customer relationship. This unit explores fundamental aspects of advertising, the history, theories, purpose, scope and optimum channels. Students will investigate audiences and markets, as well as the psychological influence, impact and ethics of story-telling in marketing campaigns.

The BFA is the trade association representing the interests of professional florists. Our amazing industry connections also create opportunities for work experience through live projects as well as opening doors for work, generally though traineeships in creative industries. Last year, students progressed to prestigious universities including Central St Martins, London College of Fashion, and Nottingham and Trent. The fashion industry is very competitive and it can be difficult to find a job after graduating. Just having a degree is not enough, especially if you want to be a fashion designer.

Museums Association

REC is the business body for staffing and recruitment firms, including temporary and permanent workers. The REC can offer recruiters legal advice and guidance, business support, briefing on key policy issues and representation of the sector to government. ARC is a professional trade association representing recruitment agencies, businesses and consultancies across all business sectors.

The NMTF is a national trade association representing market and street traders, events retailers and mobile caterers. IMRG is the UK association for online retail helping members understand and improve their online retail performance through a busy programme of performance benchmarking, data analysis, insight, best practice-sharing and events. British Marine is a trade association for the UK leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. British Marine represents businesses including boat builders, chandlers, brokers, marinas, passenger boats and engines. They are providing a wide range of free specialist materials to support both member and non-member organisations during COVID-19 on the ARCO website or contact FODO is the representative professional body for eye care providers across the UK.

Association Of Independent Music Aim

BEI is a member organisation for companies exporting infrastructure, capacity building and international development, with a particular focus on the dynamic and growing markets of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and South East Europe. The Cosmetics, Toiletry & Perfumery Association represents companies involved in making, supplying and selling cosmetic and personal care products.
